¡Hola mi gente linda! I wanted a share a video (also embedded below) with you that I made walking through how to make a simple Day of the Dead/Día de los Muertos Bitmoji Classroom. Now, you might be thinking, “Why on Earth would I do that? Do you even know how busy I am??” Why yes, I do! But hear me out:

  • From my experience, kids like the Bitmoji classrooms! I rarely do them, so that actually might add to the excitement behind them. 🙂
  • It’s our way of having a classroom celebration/party. I know half of you would have built ofrendas with your students to celebrate Día de los Muertos. Well, here is your opportunity to share that with your online students.
  • To break up the monotony of the regular day to day assignments virtual. A Día de los Muertos classroom, hyperlinked with cool activities, is a nice break from the norm, while still learning–about culture.

Note: I used the Día de los Muertos Webquest for its links to create the classroom. Then, I will use the packet for the students to answer the questions. I show an example of one of the cultural activities in the video, with a really cool virtual museum that showcases ofrendas!

In the video, I reference the various steps in making a Bitmoji Classroom. Lost? Don’t worry. I made a quickbit tutorial on how to make a regular Bitmoji Classroom that will have you up and running in no time. All links are embedded in the YouTube video or in the Description section.
