Β‘Hola mi gente linda! If you’re new here to The Cultural Classroom, my name is Allison and I am a Spanish Teacher with over a decade of classroom experience! One of my greatest joys is sharing my love and passion for the Spanish language and culture, while also uplifting marginalized groups. I know that the start of the school year can be hard: we want to create inclusive and welcoming communities, but with what budget? I get it because I’m there with you. Many of these resources were made because I personally couldn’t afford to buy them or I couldn’t find versions that were “inclusive” enough.
Personal note: For me, inclusion goes beyond simply race and ethnicity. I believe that it is essential to explore gender, religion, access, and sexual identity because these qualities (and more) are reflected in everyday Spanish language & culture. Therefore, my work & resources reflect that. Should you have any questions, feel free to email me at theculturalclassroomtpt@gmail.com.
